There are weddings, and then there are stories that feel like poetry in motion. Tapan and Saloni's February wedding at Tarangi Resort, Jim Corbett, was not just a celebration—it was a soulful journey of two vibrant hearts coming together amidst rivers, mountains, and melodies. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Kosi river, with dense sal forests and golden light spilling through every frame, their wedding was a fine blend of emotion, elegance, and personality-driven design. Over three days—14th, 15th, and 16th February—Vasterior had the honour of crafting not just moments but memories, curating every detail from planning to décor to personalized stationery.
Day 1: Sufi Soiree Under the Stars
The festivities began on the evening of the 14th with a Sham-e-Sufi night—a mystical, musical affair drenched in dim candlelight and soulful live Sufi tunes. Guests were welcomed with ittar-infused mists, fragrant Kajras, and the calming rustle of trees by the riverside. The décor was earthy and poetic, with deep tones, textures, and lanterns that flickered like little secrets. From customized invites to photo-laced mementos, every corner reflected Tapan and Saloni's love for the intimate and intentional.
Day 2: Mehendi Meets Market Magic + A Bollywood Blast
The next morning brought a burst of colour with a Mehendi designed like a chic farmers' market, infused with cultural artistry. Artists from Rajasthan enchanted everyone with their soulful folk songs, while corners of the venue paid homage to the couple's favorite cities. Ahmedabad was represented through a lively kite-flying corner and local delicacies like rabdi. Kolkata brought in the charm of street food with puchkas and pakoras, alongside intricate pottery art. Mumbai added its zest with vada pav, dabeli, and that vibrant city energy. Additionally, a cozy picnic corner nestled under the trees allowed guests to unwind with blankets, baskets filled with coffee, candies, and sweet treats. It was a delightful sight to see everyone enjoying this charming nook, adding another layer of warmth and joy to the celebration.
Day 3: Haldi, Baraat & A River-Kissed Mandap
The morning of the 16th was a riot of yellow and joy. The Haldi was divided into two segments: a dainty floral gathering followed by a full-throttle splash party where shirts were torn, dhols roared, and colours flew. Giveaways like handwoven Uttarakhandi scarves and floral jewellery made it both rooted and radiant. As the sun dipped, Tapan made his way down the aisle with both his parents—hands clasped, hearts full. Saloni entered with her friends holding her seven vows, under a custom red-beige Phoolon ki Chaadar, sunflower bouquet in hand, and tears of joy in her eyes. The Jaimala unfolded to the sound of guests ringing metal bells, cold pyros lighting up the riverside, and a cloud of colours exploding into the twilight.
The Finale: An All-White English Affair
Post the pheras, the night transitioned into a reception straight out of an English countryside dream. Guests dressed in whites, natural florals swaying gently in the moonlight, and soft jazz blending with the rustle of river winds. Tapan and Saloni, now husband and wife, basked in the glow of a love so thoughtful, so alive. From their neon afterparty to their vow-led entry, this wedding wasn't just planned—it was personalized to the last thread. Because when two joyful souls like Tapan & Saloni unite, the celebration becomes an emotion in itself.
